Unit 2 Portfolio- Amersham & Wycombe College Prospectus

Amersham & Wycombe College Prospectus

The front cover of the prospectus has little information to tell the readers that it is a prospectus. The key aspects of the prospectus are the use of the Colleges name and logo, located in the top right of the cover. As the area around the masthead is clear of any other text or images, it then stands out, to identify the readers that this prospectus is branded by the college. Similar to the Misbourne schools positioning of the masthead. The main image of the four students helps to identify that the prospectus is advertising a happy learning and working environment. Seeing lots of smiles is more reassuring than lots of glum ones. The text, “Full Time Further Education 2013/14”, with the slogan, “Achieve Wonders”, is presented in font of a transparent red circle to show the features, that this prospectus has to offer.
Compared to the Misbourne school’s prospectus front cover, there is more going on in the A&W prospectus than the Misbourne schools prospectus. There’s only three parts to the Misbourne’s front cover. A&W makes it look like there’s more to offer with their prospectus.
The back cover of the prospectus carries on with the same layout and style as the front cover. However, in the bottom left hand corner, they have organised the contact information into a white box to outline where the readers can go to look, or contact, to get further information about the college, once they have gone through the rest of the prospectus. It seems that the image is one long continuous image which stretches onto the front cover. The use of lots of different people, ethnic and age, shows that the college is not discriminating against any one and that it is welcoming students to grow there community, similar to the Misbourne’s prospectus.
